TMU/ACADEMIA

Privacy Policy

Updated June 2026

TMU Academia is a research and education initiative by Hudson A. R. Bonomo (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil). We take your data privacy seriously, in line with Brazil’s LGPD (Law 13.709/2018). For users in the European Union and other regions, we also follow GDPR principles and good international practice. Your data is stored on our own server in Brazil (São Paulo).

1. You don’t need an account to study

The courses are free and open: you can watch and study all content without signing up. An account is only needed if you want to track your progress and earn a certificate.

2. What we collect

Only when you create an account: email, name, name for the certificate, phone, city, country and year of birth. We also record your course progress and issued certificates. We do not collect sensitive data.

3. How we use it

To authenticate your access, track progress, issue and verify certificates, and contact you about your account. We do not use your data for advertising.

4. Legal basis

Processing is based on your consent (given at sign-up) and on providing the service you requested (the account and certificate).

5. Sharing

We do not sell or share your data with third parties. The public certificate verification page shows only name, course, date and hours — never your email. You only share the certificate on social media if you choose to.

6. Cookies

We use a strictly necessary session cookie (HttpOnly) to keep you signed in. No tracking or advertising cookies.

7. Security

Passwords are stored hashed (bcrypt). The database runs on a dedicated, isolated server reachable only internally. Traffic is encrypted via HTTPS.

8. Your rights

You can access, correct, download (portability) and delete your data at any time. On "My Account": edit your profile, download your data as JSON, and delete your account (erasing account, data, enrollments and certificates). Deleting your account also withdraws your consent. For other requests, contact us.

9. Retention

We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete the account, the data is erased.

10. Contact

Questions or requests about your data: [email protected].
